Cannon Covered Bridge
Cannon Covered Bridge is an all-wood constructed covered bridge that spans Cayuga Creek. It was built in the style of six similar bridges that were in the Cowlesville area during the 1800's. Visitors can park at the far side of the one-lane bridge, to take pictures and enjoy this historic reconstruction.
The bridge is dedicated in memory of US Army Sgt. Charles R. Cannon, who was killed March 25, 1945 in Europe during WWII. Sgt. Cannon grew up on the banks of Cayuga Creek in Cowlesville and, during WWII, served in the 35th Engineering Battalion, Co. C, constructing roads and bridges in the Pacific Northwest and in Europe.
